Turkish is one of the most common languages spoken in the British
capital. The data was drawn from the 2011 census by Neal Hudson, an analyst for
London estate agents Savills, who mapped the
second most popular primary languages spoken by at least 5% of local residents
across London . Hudson ’s map shows that after English, Turkish is the
second most commonly spoken language in Enfield ,
Edmonton ,
Ponders End, Tottenham, Wood Green, Dalston, Hackney and Stoke Newington.
The story, along with Hudson ’s map of London ’s
most popular foreign languages (pictured below), was first published last year and has since
received widespread media coverage including in a slew of North
London publications at the start of 2014.
