with leading news agency AFP have been selected as among the world’s best.
Bülent Kılıç picked up awards from Time Magazine and The Guardian newspaper for
his photographs during various crises in Turkey
Kılıç, like many others in his profession, risk
all to capture the incredible shots from hot spots around the world. Among his
most re-produced shots from 2014 were of the Ukraine
conflict, the clashes between the public and Turkish police during the funeral
procession for Gezi
Park
In December, 35-year-old Kılıç was awarded Best Wire Photographer of 2014 by Time
Magazine. Among his most striking shots was one of a father kissing his son rescued
from Turkey

Last week, Kılıç, a father of one who has been
working with AFP since 2003, picked up his second award for his 2014
photographs. The Guardian’s picture desk wrote that they had, “chosen Turkish photographer Bulent Kilic,
of AFP, as our hotly contested agency photographer of the year. Here’s a look
back over 2014 through his lens”.
